Abstract:

For phase array radar, an adaptive monopulse algorithm combining four-channel sum-difference beam and auxiliary elements is presented. Adaptive processing is first conducted for (azimuth and elevation) sum-difference beams by combining four-channel sum-difference beam output and auxiliary elements output. The new algorithm utilizes both high gain difference beams and auxiliary elements for cancelling the mainlobe jamming and multiple sidelobe jamming. Theoretical analysis and simulation results indicate that the new algorithm can not only effectively suppress mainlobe jammers and sidelobe jammers, but also keep the good performance of monopulse angle estimation. Furthermore, it need not accurately estimate the position of jammers in advance, which is beneficial to the project.
