Abstract:

Inverse synthetic aperture radar image (ISAR) sequences could show the attitude variation and structural characteristic of ballistic targets in a micro-period. Based on ISAR image sequences, a method for extracting micro-motion features of ballistic targets is proposed. Stronger scattering points are extracted through the relax algorithm after which the distance-Doppler method is introduced for imaging. Based on the gray-scale matching algorithm, the match of ISAR images is carried out to improve the precision of estimation for the period of micro-motion. The relationships among projections of scattering points over the imaging plane are analyzed to describe the relationships between the coordinates of scattering points and the micro-motion features of targets. Then the micro-motion parameters are estimated through analyzing the relationships between the positions of scattering points in ISAR images sequences and the coordinates of scattering points. Simulations are carried out to test the feasibility and validity of the method, simulation results show that this method has high precision.
