Abstract:

As the traditional microstrip antenna has the disadvantage of narrow bandwidth, a kind of adaptive differential evolution algorithm based on hybrid coding methods is put forward, which optimizes the antenna with two steps. Firstly, the shape of the antenna patch and ground plane is coarsely optimized with the grid coding method. Secondly, the removal part of the area optimized in the first step is finely optimized with the basis function coding method. A new wideband antenna can be obtained after the two-step optimization, the bandwidth of the antenna is extended from 11~15 GHz to about 9~17.5 GHz, achieving a broadening rate of 112.5%. The method has high calculation precision and strong versatility, which greatly reduces the amount of computation through the two-step optimization. In addition, this method provides a new way to optimize the antenna based on the basis function coding.
