Abstract:

Simulation of detecting turbulence is an efficient way to study complex meteorological targets. In order to improve the simulation fidelity of airborne weather radar turbulence detection, a method of three-dimensional atmospheric turbulence modeling is proposed. It is the Von Karman model based on the correlation function using the Monte Carlo method. The model is applied to the airborne weather radar turbulence detection system, the turbulence echo model is generated and detected, and the obtained Doppler velocity and spectrum width of the turbulence target is analyzed. Simulation results show that the turbulence model meets the requirements of airborne weather radar turbulence wind field numerical simulation. Compared with the theory correlation test, the proposed method corresponds to theoretical model characteristics and has higher simulation accuracy, and fits the statistical characteristics of atmospheric turbulence.
