Abstract:

High ratio of mainlobe peak to sidelobe peak (RMS), narrow mainlobe width and good orthogonality properties are the research priorities of multiple-input multiple-output radar waveform design and optimization. Based on the effect of combination parameters on the RMS and mainlobe width, the nonlinear frequency modulation (NLFM) chirps are optimized using combined windows. Furthermore, a novel signal design method named of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing NLFM (OFDM-NLFM) is proposed by means of combined windows. Finally, the point target echo of the designed signal is processed using the matched filter. The simulation results confirm the good orthogonal performance of the optimized radar signal.
