Abstract:
The performance of delay tolerant network (DTN) suffers from the social nature and energy limitation of nodes. To solve the problem, a relation strength aware energy efficient routing mechanism is introduced. The average message forward time is used to reflect the relationship between nodes. Furthermore, the residual node energy level and contact probability are both considered to optimize the forwarding strategy. Meanwhile, in order to raise the utilization ratio of buffer, the message priority is defined according to the relation between nodes. Results indicate that the proposed algorithm prolongs the lifetime of the networks dramatically, raises the message delivery probability and improves network overhead performance significantly.
