Abstract:
A good performance orthogonal signal is the precondition of the excellent phased multiple input multipleoutput (MIMO) radar. In order to obtain a phase coding signal with higher tolerance of receiver noises, a new flexible signal design method based on the improved discrete particle swarm algorithm in which the cost function is the output signal performance after matched filtering is proposed, and the coding design process is converted into a constrained optimization problem. The new signal can effectively restrain the range sidelobe level of a transmitted waveform and the cross correlation level between different waveforms, and has a good tolerance of receiver noises. Simulation results verify the efficiency of the proposed algorithm and indicate the better performance than other algorithms in matched filtering and multiple targets case.
