Abstract:

Focusing on the practical problem that a maintained system can not always be as good as new through maintenance and the lifetime will be decreasing while maintenance time required may be increasing due to aging, a new conditionbased maintenance (CBM) and replacement model under imperfect maintenance for singleunit system is developed based on continue time Markov chain (CTMC). The state probability equations are given based on the statistical characteristic of embedded CTMC, and a recursive algorithm is presented to get solution of them. The joint optimization of inspection, the threshold value and replace policy are investigated for maximization of system steady availability, minimization of long-run cost and maximization of mean time to failure under certain system availability constraints respectively. The relationship between system deterioration, maintenance ability and performance with optimal CBM policy is analyzed through a numerical example and the feasibility of the model is proved.
