Abstract:

The parameter estimation performance is studied in bistatic multiple input multiple output (MIMO) radar for coherent pulses. The CramerRao bound (CRB) for joint direction of departure (DOD), direction of arrival (DOA) and Doppler frequency estimation is derived for both Swerling I and Swerling II targets. The influences of some parameters on the CRB are analyzed when the coherent pulses are orthogonal frequency division linear frequency modulation signals. The result shows that bistatic MIMO radar can get a good performance on DOD and DOA estimation for both Swerling I and Swerling II targets, and the performance for Swerling I targets is better than Swerling II ones. Also it has a good performance on Doppler frequency estimation for Swerling I targets, but is difficult to estimate Swerling II ones.
