Abstract:
Aiming at the problem of subarrays orientation errors, a robust self-calibration algorithm for multiple subarrays in the presence of mutual coupling is presented. Being similar with the existing mutual coupling self-calibration algorithms, the novel algorithm also utilizes the banded, symmetric Toeplitz characteristic of the uniform linear array (ULA) and the block diagonal characteristic of the multiple subarrays. Therefore, the multidimensional nonlinear search and iterative computation can be avoided. The difference is that the novel algorithm has more robustness against subarrays orientation errors. The expressions of the Cramer-Rao bound (CRB) for unknown parameters are also derived. The simulation experiments validate the effectiveness and advantage of the proposed method.
