Abstract:

Waveform design affects the performance of target detection and parameters estimation of the multiple input multiple output (MIMO) radar. The detection performances can be improved by matching waveform with the high resolution range profile of the target. The objective function and constraints are studied to maximize system SINR on the basis of the model of a colocated MIMO radar. The phase gradient of the objective function is studied, and a phase domain costant modul conjugate gradient method is introduced for designing the transmit waveform. The simulation result indicates that the performance of the designed waveform can approach that of the theoretical optimum waveform, and the new algorithm is preferable for its low complexity, better convergence and stability.
