Abstract:
The properties of the polarimetric scattering from two dimensional exponent spectrum rough surface characterized by textures are studied. If the ratio of the correlation lengths in two directions is large enough, the rough surface is characterized by stripe textures, while the ratio is close to one, the surface seems to be block textures. The visional effect on different texture angles of both characters can be obtained by the angle rotating in Fourier transform. The scattered field is derived in Cartesian coordinate system through the integration of scattering facets with the elliptic polarized wave incidence. The polarized radar cross section (RCS) from the exponent spectrum rough surface characterized by textures is computed. The numerical results show that it is significant to investigate the polarimetric RCS for retrieving texture character of the rough surface.
