Abstract:

The multi-core & many-core trends of microprocessors provide an opportunity for popularizing the parallel simulation. Simulation model components that are developed according to the simulation model portability standard interact with each other via interfaces, events and dataflow. The common characteristic of these three interaction modes is immediate response, which is unsuitable for the parallel simulation. The modification method of these interaction modes for parallelization is studied. The API level of model  interactions for a modeler is adjusted partly, while the interaction style remains. In the implementation level of model interactions, these three interaction modes are transformed into the classical event interaction formalism of the parallel discrete event simulation. The logical correctness and the running efficiency can be promised by synchronization protocols. These three interaction modes of component-based parallel simulation models have their own applicable situations and enrich the interaction method of parallel simulation models.
