LPI based line formation design of multiple receivers for single-transmitter multiple-receiver cooperative radar system

Abstract:

To optimize the low probability of interception(LPI) of the single-transmitter multi-receiver cooperative radar (SMCR) detection system, the optimization objective function with the interception factor is established through target detection equation of the SMCR. Firstly, the target detection scenario of the SMCR on a two-dimensional plane is illustrated, and the receiving gain and its approximate estimation method of the receivers formation is analyzed in the detection area of the SMCR. Then, according to the prior knowledge of the target location, the receivers formation optimization model of SMCR system is established, and its solution set is analyzed. Finally, aiming at the prior knowledge of the target search area, the LPI property of SMCR is analyzed by simulating the receivers formation from several different aspects. Simulation results show that for SMCR detection scenarios where the target position or target search area is known as priori, the design of the receivers formation is beneficial for improving the LPI performance of the system. Known measured data of the target location qualitatively demonstrate the rationality of the simulation results of the proposed method.
