Abstract:

For the problem of uneven surface clutter when using holographic subsurface radar for non-destructive detection, a double-frequency cancellation based method is proposed to mitigate the uneven surface clutter. This method first obtains the low-frequency and high-frequency radar signals under setting conditions. Then, the corresponding signal model is constructed. By analysing the characteristics of target signals and non-flat surface signals in radar echoes of different frequencies, the parameters in the model are estimated by combining the theoretical derivation and fitting an approximation of the surface echoes. Finally, the estimated surface echo is cancelled with the original low-frequency echo to mitigate the uneven surface clutter. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulation and real experiments.
