Abstract:

Compared with single radar systems, distributed radar network can achieve target detection performance improvement, via techniques of information fusion, cooperative detection, et al. However, in real applications, considering the difference of target distance and viewing aspect relative to different radar sites, there usually exists some radar site that cannot capture the target because of low signal to noise ratio. For the above problem, the advantage of information sharing in the distributed radar network is used sufficiently. And a multi-frame track initiation method is presented. Firstly, the tracking information from the radar site that already established target track is sent to the invisible radar site. Secondly, a predicted region is founded according to the tracking information wherein the multi-frame joint detection method is designed. Finally, target track initiation is fulfilled based on the detection results. Simulation results indicate that the presented method can achieve the performance improvement of track initiation.

Key words: distributed radar network, tracking information, multi-frame joint track initiation
