Abstract:

The matched filter response of the interpulse agile waveform is different, and the ground/sea clutter is equivalent to the range sidelobe modulation (RSM), which leads to a decrease in clutter suppression ability and even incapability of coherent processing. Aiming at the characteristics of the linear frequency modulation (LFM) signal with the same main lobe width and small sidelobe amplitude fluctuation after changing the pulse width and frequency modulation polarity under the premise of constant bandwidth, the ambiguity function, peak gain loss, single-channel moving target indicator (MTI) processing performance and space-time processing performance are analyzed in this paper. The simulation results show that under the condition that the time width-bandwidth product is more than 1 000 and the normalized pulse width change is less than 0.4, the target accumulation loss is less than 1 dB, the single-channel time-domain clutter suppression capability is better than 29 dB when the pulse width is slipped, the space-time clutter suppression processing loss is less than 1 dB when the clutter to noise ratio (CNR) is lower than 40 dB.

Key words: waveform agility, coherent processing, range sidelobe modulation (RSM), low intercept, anti-interference
