Abstract:

This paper applies cyclic wiener filter to jamming detection for direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) systems and proposes a blind jamming detector, named time variant whitener based detector. Due to the distinct cyclostationarity features of the DSSS signal and jamming signal, the filtering coefficients of time varying whitener (TVW) detector can be adjusted to make the output of the detector contain jamming signal and background noise, so as to realize blind jamming detecting. The simulation results show that the DSSS receiving structures using the proposed cyclostationary-based jamming detection can decide the presence of jamming signal at a wide range of jamming-to-signal ratio, and outperforms the time invariant whitener-based detector.
