Abstract:

The bistatic multipleinput multipleoutput (MIMO) radar can estimate amplitude and phase errors via direct wave, but the performance of the current algorithm will degrade greatly in the presence of direct wave estimate error. To deal with this problem, a new method for array amplitude-phase calibration based on subspace algorithm is proposed. After rotating array antenna with various azimuth angles, an array covariance matrix can be calculated and the gain and phase errors are obtained by subspace-based algorithms.Instead of the requirement for the priori information of the direction of arrival (DOA) of the direct wave, this new method needs the accurate angle of rotating array, then it can estimate the DOA of the direct wave and the gain and phase errors of the channel simultaneously. The performance of the proposed method is good, computer simulations and real data are conducted to show the validity of the proposed method.
