Abstract:

Spaceborne bistatic radar has the advantages of wide coverage, anti-stealth, anti-jamming and so on, and has great potential for application in the future. However, due to spaceborne bistatic radar has the characteristics of the large differences in orbital configurations and heterogeneous spatial scales, the clutter spectrum structure of the bistatic radar system is quite different in diverse orbital configurations. In this paper, combined with spaceborne bistatic geometry, consider with topographic relief and resolution space variation and other factors effects on clutter covariance matrix, the clutter distance dependence and adaptive processing loss are analyzed for ana-single based configuration and long distance bistatic configuration under the same altitude orbits, and the spaceborne bistatic orbits configurations and the observation model constraint are proposed to support the optimal design of spaceborne bistatic radar.

Key words: spaceborne bistatic radar, orbital configuration, clutter model, distance dependence
