Abstract:

For a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) seeker, the trajectory and the look angle have an effect on the azimuth resolution of imaging. In order to acquire the best azimuth resolution within a fixed time, a trajectory design and optimization method is proposed based on genetic algorithms. The constraints of the missile flying with SAR at the flight time are built, and the missile command acceleration is used as control variables to set up the objective function about the dwell time and the desired azimuth resolution. The control variables are optimized using  the genetic algorithm, and an optimal trajectory is gotten. Simulation results demonstrate the validity of the method.
