Abstract:

The adaptive monopulse method is efficient for angle estimation in an interference background. However, when the target departs from the antenna look direction apparently or this method is applied to the subarrayconfiguration array with the array error, it produces a large bias. To overcome these problems, a novel method is developed. Firstly, the monopulse ratio is calculated from the adaptive sum and difference weight vectors and the measured steering vectors. Secondly, the monopulse response curve is fitted by the least square algorithm. Finally, the target angle is estimated through the curve. The simulation results show the validity of the developed method.
