Abstract:

Wideband radar echoes may provide high range resolution capability and help to achieve high precision target tracking. However, the target splitting effect and migration through range cells caused by the high resolution capability may also pose severe challenges to target detection and correlation. For this reason, this paper proposes a method for wideband radar target points aggregation based on hierarchical clustering to realize the adaptive aggregation of detected points in clustering targets scenarios. Furthermore, this paper proposes a method for track initiation based on global motion compensation, which overcomes the disadvantages of the traditional method such as poor compensation effect and multiple branches of track during wideband track initiation. Finally, the effectiveness of wideband points aggregation and the track initiation method in this paper is verified by clustering targets scenario simulation.
