Abstract:

A compact Vivaldi antenna with dual band-notched characteristics is proposed. By etching a pair of E-shaped structures and capacity loaded loop (CLL) on the radiation patch of the antenna, it can effectively filter out the interference of wireless local area networks(WLAN)(5.15-5.825 GHz) and satellite X band (7.25-7.75 GHz). The working bandwidth of the antenna is 3.3-12.8 GHz and the antenna structure is simple and compact with a very small size, only 26 mm×13 mm×0.762 mm. The principle of the notch is explained from the surface current of the antenna and the antenna object is fabricated. The measured voltage standing-wave ratio (VSWR), gain and radiation pattern are consistent with the simulated results. The results show that the antenna has good notch characteristics, gain characteristics, is omnidirectional in the ultra-wideband band, and can be applied to the miniaturized ultra-wideband system. The antenna also has a certain guiding significance for designing the notched Vivaldi antenna.
