Abstract:

Frequency diverse array (FDA) radar transmitting coherent waveforms employs frequency increment between the array elements. It is capable of providing rangeangletimedependent transmit beampattern. Aiming at the receiving processing of such coherent FDA radar, a two dimensional angletime matched filter is proposed, which is capable of performing matched filtering in fasttime domain and realizing equivalent transmit beamforming. This is different from the traditional matched filtering process. Moreover, a partially matched filtering approach in angletime domain is devised by considering some particular applications. By dividing the whole pulse duration into several subpulses, the received echo is processed by the angletime matched filter modulated by the transmit beampattern. Simulation examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approaches for the coherent FDA radar.
