Abstract:

To implement dynamic taxiway routes planning for aircrafts in an advanced surface movement guidance and control system (A-SMGCS), the general framework including static planning, dynamic planning and on-line updating taxiway routes is built. The surface movement model based on Petri nets and the surface movement controlling regulations based on linear inequalities are proposed according to runway, taxiways and apron running regulations. The max plus algebra state equation for the current planning aircraft which does not clash with other surface aircrafts is proposed, and the dynamic taxiway is optimized from static pre-elected shortest routings. If time variation occurs during taxiing, time window adjusting or routes re-planning is used to update taxiway routes. The simulation result indicates that dynamic taxiway routes planning decreases the potential conflictions tactically, reduces the holding time of aircrafts and improves the capacity of airports.
