Abstract: A study on the evaluation method for operational effectiveness of aircraft interception using agent based modeling and simulation (ABMS) is conducted. Considering the characteristics of interception, an agent model structure based on the information process and using the mission state machine as the core is proposed. Within the structure, the concept of information domain mapping agent is proposed. Based on this concept, the modeling method of sensor detection and tracking and a common model of radar detection and tracking are provided. Simulations and analyses of two typical interception scenarios are conducted, verifying the rationality and effectiveness of the method. The results show that modes of the influence of aircraft parameters on effectiveness are different in single aircraft combat, multiple aircraft platformcentric combat, and multiple aircraft networkcentric combat.
