Abstract:

An improved projection approximation subspace tracking deflation (PASTd) is proposed for the problem of tracking the angle of targets in bistatic multiple input multiple output (MIMO) radar. The PASTd algorithm has good performance and is widely used in bistatic MIMO radar angle tracking. However, the PASTd algorithm cannot track the target of the same direction of departure (DOD) or direction of arrival (DOA) and achieve automatic association of target angles. Firstly, the automatic correlation algorithm of target angle is given in the improved PASTd algorithm, which realizes DOD and DOA of the same moment automatic pairing. Secondly, the send and receive joint steering vector is obtained by the estimated angle. Finally, the characteristic vertor is updated by the send and receive joint steering vector, which is estimated by the PASTd algorithm. It is used as the initial vector of the tracking algorithm for the next moment. The improved algorithm overcomes the shortcomings of the PASTd algorithm and can successfully track the target of the same angle. It realizes the automatic matching and association of DOD and DOA. Simulation results are presented to verify the efficiency of the proposed method.
