Abstract:

An efficient and numerical stable vertical layered spacetime code detecting algorithm based on QR decomposition is proposed. In the upper-triangular matrix obtained from the QR decomposition (QRD) of the channel matrix, the earlier detected signals have higher diversity, but the traditional QRD based detection does not exploit such potential diversity, so its performance is lower than other successive interference cancellation (SIC) algorithms. The new method introduces the parallel multistage detection into each interference cancellation stage of QRD method and refines all the detected signals before they are cancelled in the next detection. Simulation shows that the proposed method has a better performance than the traditional zero-forcing based method and approaches the MMSE based method but with lower complexity.
