Abstract:
The bistatic synthetic aperture radar (BiSAR) system consists of a geosynchronous earth orbit (GEO) illuminator and a low earth orbit (LEO) receiver. The new synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system has the characteristics of large differences of platform orbits and hybrid configurations. The ground resolution characteristics and orbital configurations of GEO-LEO BiSAR are analyzed. Starting from modeling geometry, the performance of two-dimensional (2D) ground resolution and resolution direction angle is analyzed in detail. Then the bistatic orbital contraints of different observation modes are obtained, and the planning scheme of orbital configuration is designed. Simulation results show the validity of the theoretical analysis.
