Geometric arrangement constraints of distributed coherent aperture radar

Abstract:

Distributed coherent aperture radar (DCAR) improves the detection performance of interested regions by adjusting the time and phase of spatial distributed radars transmitting and receiving. However, the location of the unit radar will affect the coherence of the signal, thereby affecting the DCAR synthesis gain. To solve geometric arrangement of unit radar under the constrained signal synthesis gain, firstly, three typical structures of DCAR are given, and then reasons of the received signal decoherence are analyzed. Two constrains of the geometric arrangement of radar are given, namely, the signal coherence constraint and the coherent parameters replaceable constraint. Constrained relation between target size, detection distance, carrier frequency and angle of view is established. Finally, the rationality and correctness of the proposed constraint conditions are verified by simulation experiments.
