Angle estimation of bistatic MIMO radar under the time frequency grid error

Abstract:

The angle estimation for bistatic multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar under the mismatch filter in the presence of time frequency grid error is studied. Firstly, the signal model for bistatic MIMO radar under delay and Doppler frequency grid error is built. Secondly, the grid error mismatch matrix of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing linear frequency modulation signal and phase coded signal are constructed and the effect it pay on the angle estimation are analyzed. Further more, the parallel factor analysis and the least squares method are combined to estimate the transmit angle for the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing linear frequency modulation signal. The effect on the transmit angle estimation caused by the grid error mismatch matrix can be reduced by using the propose method. Finally, simulation results demonstrate that, the impact of the grid error mismatch matrix on the angle estimation in phase coded signal is little, but for the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing linear frequency modulation signal is in reverse, which illustrates the validity of the theory analysis.
