Abstract:

There is only target-to-measurement association during track maintenance in conventional radar data processing. However, there exists the measurement-to-transmitter association in single frequency network (SFN) based passive radar where all illuminators transmit the same signal at the same frequency simultaneously. The problem of target track maintenance in SFN based passive radar is examined. The primary objective is to solve the data association problem of transmitter-target-measurement in SFN. Specifically, the association of measurement-to-transmitter is integrated into the procedure of conventional association between the target and the measurement. Therefore, a method of track maintenance is obtained by transforming the multi-dimensional assignment problem into a 2-dimensional assignment problem. In addition, the validity of the method is demonstrated by both simulations and field experimental data.
