Abstract:
Super-resolution processing of polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images can concentrate target energy, improve image resolution and suppress speckle noise. Amplitude and phase estimation (APES) for monochannel data is extended to multichannel cases, which enables the super-resolution of polarimetric SAR images. Both K-distribution based detector for singlepolarized SAR images and SPAN/PWF based detectors for polarimetric SAR images are used to process real-collected SAR images. Finally, ship detection superiority of superresolution polarimetric SAR images via the multi-channel APES is demonstrated by analyzing the clutter statistical distribution, weak target detection ability, target region separability, target profile and topology structure extraction quality.
