Abstract:

Active wideband deception jamming which can synthesize the false high resolution range profile (HRRP ) sets great challenges for target feature extraction and recognition. As a result, a false HRRP discrimination method is studied based on polarization diversity receiving. The orthogonal polarization wideband response models of target echo and deception jamming are established, and their polarization correlation characteristic differences are especially analyzed. Then a discrimination algorithm is presented by taking the correlation coefficient  between two complex HRRPs in orthogonal polarization channels as a discriminator. Simulations are performed using the measured data of the airplane scaled model and jammer antenna in anechoic chamber. Results show that the correct discrimination probability can be higher than 90% for certain values of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and discrimination threshold, which verifies the validity of this algorithm.
