Abstract:
Compared with the radar receiver mounting on a horizontal flying platform, the vertical velocity component of a diving radar will cause an additional frequency which has an obvious effect upon the spatial-temporal distribution of clutter. Focusing on the non-broadside missile-borne diving radar, this paper proposes a space-time diving maneuver model and derives a general relationship between Doppler frequency and space angle. Then the spatial-temporal distribution of clutter is studied according to different antenna geometries in practice. Thus a clutter mitigation approach based on parametric model and registration compensation (PM-RC) is proposed. A missile-borne radar model is established to demonstrate the analysis of clutter characteristics and the effectiveness of the clutter suppression method in this paper.
