Abstract:

The electronic system of spacecraft is one of the key technologies for onorbit external module replacement. The traditional electronic systems of spacecraft are not scalable and do not meet the demand of function transformations and extensions through changing internal modules or lower systems including payloads. A scalable architecture is proposed for this demand. This architecture follows the design tenet of a hierarchical communication model. Based on electronic data sheet (EDS) and stubs for lower systems, lower systems could be managed dynamically. The power configuration and management for lower systems is provided by system softwarelevel instead of hardware modulelevel. A useful solution is provided for different requirements of onorbit servicing. The proposed architecture can achieve an automatic integration between different internal modules and lower systems, making onorbit external module replacement possible.
