Abstract:

Based on the lattice network model, the node failure model is established using dependency of node failure probability, considering three types of interdependencies, which are as follows: firstly, nodes in the same geographic areas are affected by the common cause failure; secondly, nodes of the same attributes are affected by the escalating failure; lastly, nodes are affected by the cascading failure of the architecture. The Monte Carlo simulation is used to approximately calculate the probability of having at least one path between the pair nodes. It is shown that the cascading failure of architecture has more adverse impact on network reliability than the common cause failure. It is also proved that the escalating failure can make the small part of node failures to affect the other nodes, to rapidly reduce the network reliability, whatever is the probability of node failure.
