Abstract:

In order to avoid the frequent network selection caused by the load fluctuation of networks, an adaptive load balancing algorithm with the future load predicting is proposed in heterogeneous wireless networks. The probabilities of networks’ future load states are predicted by the Markov-chain, then the predicted probabilities are mapped into load tread values by the load trend function. The trend values are used for the network selection and the adaptive adjustment of the trigger threshold. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce the access blocking probability and the times of the vertical handover.
