Abstract:

In order to expand the form of target velocity estimation in anti-ballistic missile operation for infrared early warning satellites, a hypothesis that velocity could be estimated passively by satellite-borne sensor based on Doppler shift is proposed. Firstly, the target velocity estimation model based on Doppler shift measured by multi-satellites is built and the relationship between velocity estimation accuracy and observation geometry, radiation wavelength and spectral resolution is given. Then the coordinate transformation between velocity error of Doppler shift measurement and that in launch coordinate system is derived. Furthermore, this paper discusses how Doppler shift contributes to trajectory parameters estimation. Finally, considering the tactical requirements, simulation results reveal the effect of velocity based on Doppler shift on tactical parameters estimation.
