Abstract:

Exploring the microwave radiation and transfer properties of lunar regolith and establishing a reasonable inverse model are very important to the estimation of the thickness of lunar regolith. Taking the main factors affecting brightness temperature and varing with the thickness of lunar regolith into account, an inhomogeneous multilayer microwave transfer model is established and is further used to simulate and analyze the changes of brightness temperature obtained from four frequency channels on the microwave radiometer attached on CE-1 with time, location and thickness of lunar regolith. A comparison is made between the calculated results and other models, and the result indicates that the proposed model has better stability and less calculative load.
