Abstract:

In order to solve the problem that most of the algorithms in spatial spectrum estimation, such as multiple signal classification (MUSIC) and estimation of signal parameters via rotational invariance technique (ESPRIT), need to know the number of sources and their performance will degrade when the estimation of the signals number is incorrect, a direction of arrival (DOA) algorithm based on the steering vector signal is proposed. This method introduces the steering vector signal, and the inferior signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) corresponding to the optimum weight deduced by the maximum signal-to-interference and noise ratio (SINR) is served as the parameter of DOA .Thus the estimation of the signals number is avoided and the direction of each signal can be obtained exactly. Finally the validity of the algorithm is verified by simulation experiments. The simulation results show that the algorithm is effective.
