Abstract:
For improving system bandwidth efficiency, an orthogonal pulses designing method with high efficiency based on timelimited prolate spheroidal wave functions is proposed. Frequency band is divided into multiple subbands which are overlapped in frequency domain. Bandpass and timelimited prolate spheroidal wave functions are derived from each subband based on the frequencytime domain pulse designing method. Orthogonal pulses are constructed by an orthogonalization method. The pulses’ spectrum is mixed in the same subband and overlapped in adjacent subband. Theory analysis and simulation results show that the orthogonal pulses have good energy concentration in frequency domain and the maximum system bandwidth efficiency is as great as 2 Baud/Hz.
