Abstract:

Azimuth phase coding linear frequency modulation(APC-LFM) waveforms for multiple-input multiple-output synthetic aperture radar (MIMO-SAR) system are presented, considering the fact that available orthogonal waveforms introduce great cross interferences due to their inadequate orthogonality and then cannot meet the requirement of practical application. After azimuth phase decoding, mutual interferences from different radar echoes are suppressed by azimuth digital beamforming (DBF), and then radar echoes from different transmit channels are separated. The APC-LFM waveforms can be used for MIMO-SAR in elevation to improve the performance of multibaseline InSAR and three dimensional SAR imaging. The simulation results validate the feasibility of the APC-LFM signal and the effectiveness of echo separation presented.
