Systematic method on analyzing Fabry-Perot antenna’s design

Abstract:

A systematic approach is applied to the design and research of Fabry-Perot(FP) microstrip antenna with the receive mode structure. The distribution theory of electromagnetic field is used to interpret why FP resonator antenna can achieve directivity enhancement in a revolutionary view. Meanwhile, three different superstrates including frequency selective surface and dielectric slabs (εr=10.2 and εr=4.4) are designed and applied to FP antennas. Based on that, the radiation features, directivity factor and gain of FP antenna are computed and analyzed with comparison. The utilization efficiency of actinal surface of FP antenna is also calculated.
