Abstract:

A novel “bearing-only” attacking mode for the anti-ship missile with path planning capability is proposed. Compared with the traditional “bearing-only” mode which adopts an attacking direction along the long axis of the target distribution ellipse and is deficient in anti-jamming because of an early start-up of the missile radar, the proposed method can effectively plan the flying path of the missile, and adjust the attacking direction along the short axis of the distribution ellipse. The start-up time of missile radar is delayed in the proposed mode, thus an early exposure to the hostile electronic jamming is avoided, and the concealment of the missile, as well as a higher penetration probability is produced. The changed missile attacking range aroused from a curved flying path is modeled and evaluated for matching between the task requirements and the missile effectiveness with the proposed “bearing-only” attacking mode.
