Abstract:

Aiming at the problem that the multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) radar back projection(BP) imaging algorithm suffers heavy computational burden and poor real-time capability, a new highly computing efficiency MIMO radar BP imaging method is proposed based on range compensation and beamforming. First transmitting signal separation and range compression are completed via matched filtering. Then the delay characteristic is analyzed and simplified under polar coordinates, the delay and sum processing in traditional BP algorithm is transformed into beamforming to complete azimuth focusing. The proposed method avoids seeking the delay of all pixels one by one, reduces the computational complexity, and is convenient for data batch processing concurrently, which greatly improves the efficiency of operations. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and high operational efficiency of the proposed MIMO radar imaging method.
