Abstract:
Two detection schemes for a spatially distributed range walking target during the coherent processing interval (CPI) are proposed. The first detector, twostep generalized likelihood rate test (2SGLRT), is acquired by estimating the signal from every range cell at different given velocity with the generalized likelihood function(GLF) criterion and maximum likelihood (ML) method. Furthermore, the second detector, improved threestep generalized likelihood rate test (I3SGLRT), is derived by utilizing the characteristic of strong scattering cells relevant to the target’s scattering geometry and the correlation of adjacent given velocities. For both 2SGLRT and I3SGLRT, the detectors have the constant false alarm rate(CFAR). Finally, experimental results for measured data of two planes illustrate that the proposed algorithms achieve the visible performance improvement comparing with a conventional noncoherent integration algorithm in the presence of range walking.
