Abstract:

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems have a high peak to average power ratio (PAPR), therefore this paper proposes a new method, named phase factor optimal pair, to solve this drawback. The phase factor optimal pair method can filter out many low PAPR sequences and restructure these sequences and transmit them to obtain the lower PAPR. This paper also combines particle swarm optimization (PSO) and the new method, and then compares the new method and the combined method with traditional PSO. The simulation results show that applying the combined method in OFDM systems is better than traditional PSO because it obtains a 0.1~0.2 dB lower PAPR than traditional PSO. The simulation proves the effectiveness of this method.
